GreenWire takes great pride in their electrical installation. Planning and detail is given to every project as to how it will look as much as how it will work. Why not do it right and make it look pretty? This project is a great example of our work.
The SMA inverter was mounted on painted piece of 5/8 inch plywood on the inside of the garage. The PV cables were ran in conduit through the attic and down into the garage and into the wireway. The wireway on the inside of the garage is connected back-to-back with the wireway on the outside of the garage. This allowed all the components and wiring to be hid and looks very clean. The sub panel in the garage is also back to back with the main meter panel outside. This allowed for new and relocated circuits to be placed in the new sub panel as needed.
The "Quick PV Mounts" are a tile replacement that are made of milled aluminum. They mount very quickly and meet every code for rain, wind and strength. These mounts can either be attached to rafters or directly to the plywood with additional lags. They have a waterproof taping material and plate under the aluminum tile you see here.
The details of this system included (14) Solar World 230 Watt Panels, 5000 KW SMA, Unirac Rails and Quick PV Mounts. The wiring was completely hidden in the attic and garage and included and extra cable for a future array.
The total system was 3.2KW DC and cost $20,000.00 installed. It carrys a 10 year warranty on the inverter and workmanship and 25 years on the panels. This project received over $10,000 in incentives and has an annual return of 15%.
